I'm sure you have done this already but if not you need to sit down with her over coffee and have a talk. Let her know exactly how far you cleaned the vent, what you found and how it's unlikely the bird got into the dryer. There is no need to get in to a pissing match with her over it. Out of good faith offer her a small discount and move forward.

Sounds like she is trying to get a freebie, most dryers have a METAL screen that would prevent a bird from entering.

Ask to see the bird, and get the name of the dryer tech that came out. Because if there was a bird, she will need a picture or a signed statement from the tech about it.

The lady is going to refuse payment, bounce here check she gave me, $470 for house wash and dryer vent.

No point in considering this from the standpoint of the homeowners accusation. There's no way a bird went into her roof vent all the way into her dryer. That's especially true after you sprayed the roof with mix, no bird is gonna hang around that scent and diddle it's way into a vent pipe.

She just wants a free job. You may as well approach the problem from that standpont.

Fact is, if she stopped payment, there's very little chance you will get a dollar out of her.

I wish I felt you had a chance, but it might be easier on your nerves, to forget it.

I think with the video she did for you expressing how happy she is and the great job you did, that she would have a hard time defending her stance for non-payment. Explain to her the legal implications if she continues her path along with the chance she may be charged with attempted fraud. You have proof (video) and she has nothing for proof. Don't let her screw you over

As opposed to what I said, Gary is right too.

I guess you could take her to small claims court or put a mechanics lien on her house?

I have only been cheated once and haven't done anything but stew over it so far.
