Well, the old girl (96 Ford F 350 Dually Flatbed) blew her head gasket (Inline 6cyl).
Her old motor is tired, and so is she. She had 276,000 miles on her, and her Tranny is still strong.
I have decided not to repair her head gasket. Soon, she will be towed to her final resting place.
We pulled all our roof cleaning equipment off of her. It was a lot of fun getting the 650 lb air compressor off, LOL
Now, it is time for another flatbed roof cleaning truck!
Here in the Tampa Florida area, there are plenty of good used flatbed dually trucks. Of course, I prefer Isuzu or Mitsubishi Fuso's.
But used Ford F 350's can be had from 2 to 5 thousand dollars, with flatbeds already on them!
This is how we roll. We buy good used flatbed trucks (always duallys), put our stuff on them, have them lettered, and we go clean roofs.
We drive them till they are no longer cost effective to repair, pull our stuff off, and do it again!
Time to find a new used flatbed truck
RIP

In this business, it doesn't pay to buy new trucks-if you are going to carry SH in them. I've rusted out a load of trucks and trailers through the years! I replaced my 1995 Chevy 1500 with a 1997 GMC 3/4 ton Silverado back about 6 months ago. The Chevy has about 190,000 and the GMC 150,000 Nothing wrong with the Chevy, but I got a deal, so I switched them. The GMC has been REALLY well taken care of. I had to have a mechanic check to see if a new motor was put in it? The whole motor looks shiny new??? He said it's original. I still have the Chevy under a portable garage [canopy] as backup.

Chris, maybe you could do a video or step by step pictures of your new build for us green horns. In the premium section of course.
I love watchn builds..
Ya, while at the moment I feel I'll stick with an enclosed trailer, who knows?
I considered making my Chevy into a flatbed when I got it.
Show us a step by step build!
LOL, Not much to see! I have 2 - 325 Gallon tanks I mount side by side on the flatbed, the air pump goes in the middle of the 2 pumps, and the air compressor at the back of one side, and the big plastic tarp box at the other side.

We us NO Hose reels!
Very simple, very effective!
This is an OLD truck!
I misunderstood. I thought you were going to "Make a flatbed" out of a regular truck, not just outfit an existing flatbed.
