HOA Prohibits Chlorine-Based Chemical

I've never seen or heard of a HOA telling roof cleaners how to clean a roof... Until now. The picture below shows the letter I got from the guard at the gate. Needless to say the homeowner or myself didn't give a chit about the HOA's letter so I proceeded to clean. He got a clean roof and driveway just like the HOA was demanding. Maybe they have a deal with a pressure cleaning company to get a % of each roof cleaning since it will be dirty again in a year using only water with no chems.

You should send them some of the Manufacturer statements about using a mix of bleach, tsp and water and saying "DO NOT PRESSURE WASH" plus the ARMA statement and tell the HOA that maybe they will be sued for forcing homeowners to possibly void their roof warranty and cut their roofing lifespan in half. I bet that would change things!

Good point Chuck. Sometimes a little education is in order and goes a long way.  My guess is that they had a couple contractors go in in the past and ruin it for the ones who know what they are doing.

Palm Beach county, FL. Across the coast from you Mr. Tucker.

Mr. Burgman, I have both 217 and 227 ARMA statements with me at all times in case I need them for such cases like this. It's bad enough the HOA tells the homeowner what to clean and when to clean it but this is the first one I've seen that told how to clean. I tried to stay hidden the best I could and the "HOA police" never showed up so all worked out well. If they ever did show up and cause a fuss or got too close I might have "accidently" sprayed them with chemicals, that would show them lol. I just got a trailer this week so im working on getting that rigged, if the supplies ever get off backorder.
