+1 ... i keep saying it's my last week but I worked the past 3 days, and have 5 lined up weather permitting. 45 & sunny & like Eric they just pay a small premium for the windshield washer fluid, which costs next to nothing & takes about 5 minutes.

Same here. Getting calls but done for the season. Next spring is going to be busy.

In my opinion the economy is what concerns people, most have told me the last thing they want is the cost of a new roof right now.

We are still getting some calls up here and booking work for the spring since my equipment is hibernating. We have continued to advertise in a local free paper based out of the Slate Belt and Lehigh Valley. It's generating awareness and providing leads/work. Our road signage is also out for everyone to see.

I haven't received a call in about a month! I switched over to snow plow advertising, I have received a few of those.

Thanks. There are a lot of these bird houses(A-frames) up here. I'll be using a good amount of roof snot. The area below the roof is void of any plant material and is pitched towards the stone driveway. My son is a great ground guy and is very focused(thank god one of us is) and he'll handle this. The deck is only 15 feet from the creek and this is one area the customer voiced his concerns over. After discussing our methods and assuring him of our professionalism he was confident that his concerns were addressed.

Shortly after posting this note I received a call from this homeowner requesting an estimate/quote. Since it was a short drive(10 minutes) from my shop I went over there. After walking this newly purchased property with the homeowner and educating him on our process he agreed to hire us for a full service. This included the roof shingle cleaning of the house and sheds(note strange looking moss on sheds), the metal roof on the garage, all siding(house, shed and garage), the glass enclosed sun room, the deck and pavers. He has been put on the schedule for early spring. We received this call from some of our winter advertising.

Maybe Eric will travel, and teach us some things! Just kidding, looks like you can handle the job, I would really push the "insurance policy" with moss on the roof.

Hey Hank heres a dumb idea but I gotta say it. For the deck could you dig a shallow trench to direct any run off where you want it or just to hold it there in a trench?

It's not a dumb idea and good for future reference. Unfortunately, the deck is above large stones/boulders. It shouldn't be a problem as we'll place a tarp underneath and flood it back towards the foundation.

A flowing creek, shouldn't be an issue. This is when I really like to use some of AC's products. There is a difference between dilute and neutralize. Telling a prospective HO your going to dilute the chems sounds a little weary. Telling them you will neutralize chemicals, sounds a whole lot better. Mention my name to Russ Johnson biggrin it won't get you a discount, but you can still mention it.
