Customer gets sued $750K for bad review

What are all of your thoughts on this? I think he would have been better off responding to the negative review and moving forward. Now he's going to suffer the consequences of the public and their opinion.

If the customer had made statements that are not true And the statements had negatively affected his business, Then I absolutely feel that the customer should be held liable. In order to get a judgment he has to prove damages. So I assume he was able to show a severe drop off Of revenue Which occurred at the same time the review was written.
Yes we have freedom of speech in this country, It doesn't mean you can yell fire in a crowded movie theater.

I wonder how she is going to prove his company damaged her home and stole her jewelry. If he has employees, anything is possible. It's a tough call, I feel for the company and for the homeowner, but would find it hard to believe that the homeowner made all of that up?

Customer told me on the phone the other day that she was going to go on every directory and the blast me. She did not want us to start the Job until she got home at 1 PM. Her husband came home at 12:45 and told my guys they can start. When she pulled up and saw the guys working she was livid. And she let my guys know exactly how she felt. So we canceled the job. We simply walked off the cut our losses. When she told me that she was going to write a bad review I told her no problem as long as you tell the truth. If she write something that is untrue she will get a letter from my lawyer.
