Dave Westerman owns the URL www.roofcleaninginstitute.com. He grabbed it with my knowledge to protect it, back in better days. It is my first choice for a URL, but we still own www.roofcleaning institute.org. Right now, it points to the roof cleaning directory the Uglies have. But Bob and Steve said to use it for the new forum.
And, WHAT a cool ass Forum it will be! It is called Invision Power Board, and has all kinds of cool as chit features like Facebook signup and log in, Built in Blog and Picture Gallerys for every user. I did my homework in selecting it. It was higher rated in 6 out of 8 forum review sites over VBulletin.
How about a BIG RCIA Shout Out to Bob and Steve Of Ugly Shingles ?
Steve from Ugly Shingles has volunteered his time to set the forum all up for the us! I will buy the software, get it installed on a server, then Steve will take it from there, in setting up the Forums, etc, etc.
This will be the Official suggestion thread for YOUR Forum Guys, and I solicit and very much want your feedback and suggestions.
Oh, did I mention the forum will easily allow multiple llevels and types of membership and permissions!
The RCIA will now have the very best forum software money will buy, plus money will be saved from where we are now.
RCIA currently is forced to Pay from one to 2 hundred dolars a month for this forum
This forum will remain alive, but will revert back to a free forum, and ads will replace the header.
ONLY paid members will be allowed signature links and promo posts, that will stay the same.
I predict, that if we stick together, and churn out fresh, roof cleaning related content, that by summer time, we will be back highly ranked very soon.
So guys, lets all concentrate on the move to our new home, and make suggestions to Steve from Ugly Shingles, so we can make our new home the best place it can be.
The capabilities of it are mind boggling, and I purchesed all the options. It is really smart phone compatable too. Even accepts Tap A Talk, whatever that is ?
We are happy and excited to help setup the new home of the RCIA!!
Thank you guys SOO Much Bob and Steve! I predict Steve will have a field day, once he sees all the cool chit the new Forum will do for everyone. Poor Gary, many are not aware what a nightmare it has been to keep track of memberships. This will greatly simplify his life.
Thanks guys sounds great, can't wait to be apart of it. Lets make sure we are a Dofollow. With all the content that happens on here, I can't wait to take it to the other board, pump up that SEO.

Oh Yeah! LOL, SEO is my middle name, one reason we are gettig the Hell Out of here! I have ZERO control of the Code here, and the guy who USED to be in charge of forum tech support is gone. He would bend over backwards for me, unlike the chicken chit people who replaced him.
These new tech people are blaming it on Google, vs trying to fix it! I am not a rip off, not into charging my customers ( you guys) for a forum that refuses to give Link Love.
chris. what do we have to do on our end? will our stuff transfer? or are we starting from scratch? Thanks!!! cant wait.
No JC, this forum we are on is deliberately designed NOT to be exportable. So, if you move, we must start over, but that is no big deal!
It is winter up north now, so now is a good time to do this move. Plus, this forum will always be here, for promotional posts etc, until the new forum gets some Google Rank.
So just to be clear Chris. Does this mean that we will want, even hope for, all sorts of new questions to be asked, so that we can answer. Basically recreating all of the knowledge content that we have on the existing site, on the new site?

Thanks JC, the new site will be ready soon. Steve and Bob from Ugly Shingles will be setting up our new home, and it is a lot of work! The RCIA is very fortunate to have people here like them.
Save your before and after roof cleaning pictures, you will want them for the new forum! It has the best, and most complete picture gallery of any forum I have ever seen, by far. The whole idea is we will all post a link right below our company name to our picture gallery, so potential customers who surf our forum, can quickly and easily see our work!
When the new move is complete will you be instructing us on the proper way to post or will the posting process be the same as before. Im computer challenged and always feel like Im not posting properly. With all the new options that will be on the new forum I dont want to feel lost.
should we all be posting our blogs thru the new site, or will there be capabilities to link our blogs to the site ?
The New Forum has BOTH a built in blog section and a Picture Gallery for every member! If you already have a Blog, yes, you can link it to the new forum, as well as this one, in a number of ways.

It would be nice if Dave would give you the domain name. I saw this same software back along and looked at it for a cedar only forum. Of course we have the Professional Roof Cleaners Assoication web site, which is not a forum, but an educational site. We get alot of requests for roof cleaning there. What I haves found as many requests come from area there are no roof cleaners. There are many opportuinities for a roof cleaning service throughout the country. We'll be building that site further this winter.
Sound like a great opportuinty to expand the roof cleaning industry. I wish you the best with it. The more places people can go to learn about roof cleaning the better for the industry. At the end of the day it is all about education to the public about roof cleaning.
1.) you can clean a roof. 2.) you should clean a roof. 3.) there is added value to clean your roof.

Is there a projected time frame as to when the new forum will be up and running
Well, I purchased the Forum Mike, and bought Hosting. The original plan was to install the forum on UglyShngles server, temporary.
Then, we were going to go live with it. But, since it is a very very deluxe forum, it is huge! IOW, it is a bitch to install!
So, we are waiting for the software company to install it on our new server. Then, once it is installed, Steve from Ugly Shingles will create the sub forums.
