Roof cleaning start up
Permalink

I'm wanting to start a roof cleaning business in my area of Georgia as soon as possible.  Have done some research regarding different cleaning methods, products, etc.  Just found this site and would really appreciate the input of established and successful roof cleaning business owners.

From reading many of the posts on here, it looks like the "soft wash" method is the best option.  Can someone advise me as to the specific equipment I will need for this process?

Most of my research to this point has suggested a roof cleaning product that is bleach free, biodegradable, pet and enviroment friendly.  Is there such a product that works with the "soft wash" cleaning method?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Rob

Hi Rob,
Welcome to the forum. I'd like to suggest using the "search" button and familiarize yourself with the methods and practices that most members here use. I think you'll find litterly days worth of reading material addressing the topics you are interested in.

The biodegradable , pet and environment friendly chemical that most here at the RCIA use, including me, is chlorine. In the hands of a trained knowledgable professional is is by far the best chemical for the treatment of roof algae.

You might also want to consider becoming a premium member of this site.

In What part of Georgia are you located?

If you want to get real serious about cleaning, you'd be welcome to come down and spend a day with a Spray Wash crew. I'm located in Tallahassee Florida.

Also, please fill out your signature file so we can learn a little more about you. We're like a big family here.

Thank you for the offer. I will certainly consider doing that. What is your opinion on how much $$ it would take for start up?

Cost to start depends on a lot of things. Going to work out of a pick-up you already have? Buying a trailer? Air pump and compressor or 12v pumps? Tanks, Hoses, Ladders, Insurance?  These are all things that decide the start up costs. You can get going on the "cheap" for around $800--$1000.. You can go big time, which I don't recommend starting out, for anywhere from $1000.   to $40,000.  There are a lot of varibles to consider.

Those other products you have been looking at are a waste of time and money and will leave you with dis-appointed customers.  Learn the right way and right solutions here and succeed.  Become a premium member and get all the help and answers you need.

Welcome

Gary

Gary, thanks for your advice. I plan to start with minimal investment but want to be sure I am starting right. Just need some direction as to the best equipment, cleaning solutions and method. Looks like this site will give me the direction I need to get started.

It will help you, if you are truly serious about making money by cleaning roofs. Understandably so, we protect out start up information from NON Members. There is a LOT of money to be made cleaning roofs, and this is THE Best roof cleaning information website by far, on the planet.

Unfortunately, this site costs us money to operate it. My advice is to invest 100.00 in yourself, and Join us, as a premium member.
