I used to lift weights, back in the early days of my roof cleaning career. I did a lot of powerlifting (lifting super heavy weight) to trigger growth hormone release, and get bigger.

I did a lot of super heavy squats the old school way,  ass to the floor! So, like many Powerlifters, I got hemmroids. I remember the first time the roof cleaning chemical hit the hemmroids 

Can you say "OUCH" ?

Yes, I think so Peter. My hands are all calloused from years of handling SH, and my legs are missing hair, from cleaning in shorts.

I chose not to wear a respirator for many years (HUGE Mistake)!

It is not the fumes, it is the atomized particles you walk through and breathe in, that cooks your lungs.  I cough and wheeze all the time, my lungs are toast. 

Be SURE and always wear a respirator, no exceptions, learn from my mistakes. Your lungs have no feeling, and SH will try and clean your lungs, just like a roof. They will burn and permanately damage lung tissue, and you will not feel a thing.
