I know I need a "Backlinks for dummies" explanation. I have read and read and still don't see how to use backlinks to benefit my numerous free websites, blogs etc or my business website?

Or what all beyond backlinks I need to concentrate on?

Below are 3 of mine that anyone "in the know" may be able to look at and see what I should change or add?

I was showing up like 4-6 times on Google's first page for local town or county searches with "Roof Cleaning" or Pressure Washing" in the search- like Venice, Florida Roof Cleaning" or "Charlotte County Pressure Washing" etc etc

Trusting Google, because it was working so well, I dropped all phone book advertising, to save the $100.00 a month average cost per book and we have 5 books that cover my work area!

Please help and remember, so far, I have not read a backlink explanation that I could understand. I'm not stupid, I'm computer dumb. confuse
