Well I finally purchased my first piece of equipment today!!  After reading and reading and  like everyone said I decided on the Fatboy Bandit.  I thought I would keep it simple at first and if all goes well then i'll step it up and go with something different.  I'll keep everyone posted after i do my first job....

Fatboy is a good way to start. By the end of the season you should know whether you want to stay with 12v, or upgrade to air. You can find some really good bargains on equipment during the off season.  Good luck on your venture.

Zach,

Good luck brother. Hopefully you get to use the hell out of that pump. Most of these 12v pumps arent designed to pump 2nd and 3rd floor. The bigger your hose, the more head pressure you create. The pump is sturdy but the relay switch tends to burn out frequently. It may be wise to pick up a spare one so you dont get stuck on a job. You can pick up the same relay at an auto part store but it is wired slightly different than the one that comes with the pump. The relay on the pump has 2 of the connection pins jumped together. The ones at the auto part store are not, so you will need to add an extra ground wire to one of the connection pins. My explanation may not translate well in this post, but you can call me anytime nd I'll explain it to you. Rest assured you'll one day be replacing that relay. May the roof cleaning Gods be with you.

I have recently done the same. It seems like a simple choice when starting out. Let me know how it goes and I surely will be doing the same. Ps. The advice given about relay switch is a great idea, THANKS
