I love it when I get that roof all sprayed down, the chems set for a few minutes, and a huge thunderstorm decides to move in! That saves me a lot of time, and makes me more money! And the thunderstorm or rainshower before, that's awesome too!
Rain is a good thing for a roof cleaner. If it has rained within 24 hours of doing a job, it means the plants are not thirsty. Dry ground, and thirsty plants are a disaster waiting to happen. The plants, if they are thirsty, will suck up the cleaning chemical. We teach our guys to always have the customers water the yard around and under the drip edges of the roof before we come out.
This will help prevent any accidents from happening to the landscaping.
It rains here in Tampa nearly every day, in the summer time.
I didn't know that about the 24 hour deal! That's good to know. I always thought plants always absorbed water regardless if it rained or not! It was a good pointer too to have the homeowner pre-water the day before! Thanks for the insight Chris.

It is said "Dilution is the solution to Pollution". Dry ground is our worst enemy when we are cleaning roofs chemically. Wet or damp ground sort of dilutes the run off automatically, and then our grounds people can render it harmless by the application of even more water.
There is no such thing as overwatering most outside plants and grass. But, underwater the plants, and you will have very pissed off customers.
It's definitly that time of year again. Here is a Photo of the storms rolling into Pinellas County today. There was actually a bolt of lighning and clap of thunder that almost threw me off my chair on the back patio. Lots and lots of rain too.
One good thing about getting all this rain. It means that our customers don't have to wait very long for their roofs to get rinsed of all the dead mold residue. We cleaned this one yesterday. I'm sure that after yesterday's rains and todays rain, he's a happy home owner.
My guys were out finishing an 8000 sq ft tile roof up in The Reserve At Tampa Palms today.
They managed to get it done, before the sky broke loose.
One of my guys said he almost had a heart attack on the roof today, when the Thunder came. I told him he picked the right house to have a heart attack at.
The huge tile roof we were finishing up today belongs to a well known Tampa Cardiologist
