It looks like just dried soap left on the roof. A good rain will wash the roof clean, so no worries. Next time cut way back on the surfactant.

I quess I can't. This job was only my 3 job and I am ready to throw in the towel

Just finished soft washing a church for the second time and the parsonage for the third time. The roofs look bad, all cloudy.

I cannot in good concience ask to get paid.  I wouldn't pay me

This time, yesterday, I used a 50/50 solution and 2 quarts of MAO per 50 gallons.

I see all the pictures that are posted that look great but mine would not..

Are the pictures being posted taken some time after the washing or are they being taked upon completion.

I have a job coming up in 2 weeks that will require a man lift.  If I have to go back even for a second time it will actually cost me money to wash this house.

I thought that upping the % would solve the porblem.  I quess not.

Anybody got some ideas what I should do now. I'm sick over all of this and especially over all the money and time I spent setting up my rig

I'm sure the SH is OK.  I get it directly from the chemical company who ships 4000 gallons a week to local water companies.

Over the weekend I did a finger test. After I dipped my fingers in the SH they got warm and turned white as if I put peroxide on them.

What is MAO, and why are you usuing a half gallon per 50 gallons mix? That much surfactant will make any roof look cloudy. Pray for rain or get the hose out and rinse it.

I had the same problem, when I originally started. Your not trusting the love. I must have called, emailed, PMed several of the members on these boards, several times each. I was spraying roofs, and it was looking terrible. After a nice rain the majority of them look great. It depends the roof. Black streaks night and day almost instantly. Moss and algae suck. They take time to decay. Find your self a nice white roof with black streaks and do it for $100. Its not about the money, but after your done you will feel like a $1000.

Gary,

MAO is Myristamine Oxide which I understood it to be a newer version of Ammonyx Lo. I got it from Brainard Chemical

It seems to me that that was the amount to use this forum on order to cut down on the runoff.

Jim, it may need a second coat. Could the soap be bcmao, if it is that's what I use. Cut back on the soap.

Honestly if you have good SH you don't need the soap at all. That isn't even that much of a pitch.
With good SH 33 gallon of SH and 66 gallon of water should yield awesome results.

even with the high amount of bc-mao that I used I probably got 10 gallons at least of run off

I cut down my run off by using smaller tips to spray with. I am spraying with a 15/10 tip and don't get much run.

Jim, I would walk the roof. I'm not sure of your setup, but if you have a 12 volt pump and use quick couple tips... And you also power wash, use the yellow tip, and use a 40/60 mix sh and h2o with no soap. Should come out great with no runoff at all.
