and I have a 4.5 gpm hot water skid and I have a 5.5 gpm machine I piggy back them together now I get 10 whopping gpm, I have been doing this for years. I can turn the burner on and have hot water

I can run them individually as well.

I also have a 10 gpm machine for back up

but you gotta have a holding tank because your going to be going thru some water

To set this up, you will need pressure trap unloaders on both machines, 2 whip lines, and a high pressure tee. Connect the whip lines to the outlets on each machine. Then connect the other ends of both whip lines to the high pressure tee. Use the 3rd outlet on the tee to attatch your pressure hose too.

chris what exactly is a pressure trap unloader and are they typically found on a hot water skid unit.

Most commercial grade washers will come standard with a pressure trap unloader.  Some have a flow actuated unloader, but not as common.  Here's a pic of what one looks like.

And here's a high pressure tee.

Can you take your hot water skid and buy a bigger motor and pump and get increased flow and or pressure that way instead?

I don't think that would be practical Tom, It would cost a fortune, you would have to redesign the whole thing.

Joe, not sure, maybe? I would think you should have professional equipment, not being sarcastic, but I cant imagine the 3gpm being professional, try it and see?

Mike my mechanic did it, however I knew this question was going to come up so I went out and looked and it seems as if their is only a jumper hose going from one machine to the next!

I have been running it this way for 5 years with out 0 problems, they run in harmony together. you don't get increased psi, you only get added water.

That's the answer I was looking for is if the psi had to be the same or not.
