Maximizing the distance for the ALL FLO system- Having Issues
Permalink

The last few jobs we did, I wanted to get more distance using the All FLo system, using 90psi for the compressor, with the open tip on the tri-banger, could only get about 25-30'. We do have an extension that we added on to get about another 5'  but I needed more to get over the ridgeline. The Homeowner did not want us on the tile roof, and if I could just get a few more feet, I would have been able to hit the back From the front of the roof.

Or if there is any other way to do this without getting on the roof, I have read to plank the cage, seems a bit extreme?? maybe?? idk if I could have had the extra distance from the system I could have hit it.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks

Kim R

Method Called Cross Streaming, Combine the flow from your garden hose, with the flow from your pump, may give it the extra boost needed. I'm not sure how much further you have to reach, but its worth a shot.

We have found that a bigger compressor makes a difference in pump performance.

I never used the 3/8 all flow, but on 1/2 inch pumps, going from a 6hp air compressor with dual wheelbarrow style tanks to a hot dog style compressor of 13 or more HP made the 1/2 inch Yamada act like a brand new pump.

Kim, I have had to use a 10 ft lance attached to my ball valve on a number of occations for the exact same reason. That along wth a 0020 tip normally gives the reach you need.

I keep my external regulator set at 90 psi but have bumped it up a few times to 100-120 for a little added pressure. Just remember to adjust it back once the job is done. Those diaphrams don't like 120 psi bursts.

We are having the same issue, we have lost about 5-10 ft from ours, cleaning all the lines out, going in to the pump, fittings, we run at 80. Will keep you posted on our findings.

Thanks for the input going to try a few things Larry suggested, see if that helps otherwise it means a bigger compressor, the ridged 5.5 hp wheelbarrow.
More power to move the flow, is going to be necessary I think.

I'm glad that I bite the bullet and stated out with a 1/2 " All-Flo  with a 13 hp compressor.  At my age, I need a quick learning curve.  Thanks RCIA for all your posts. Premium menbership pays

It really does pay, seriously. Now, you have the best roof cleaning pump setup I know of.

It is a sweet tool, almost brand new being Randy is never in Fl. long enough to use any of this.. lol I should rent it out while he is away.. he would kill me but I might make a few bucks for some shopping fun..
The 8gpm partnered with the sweet surface cleaner recommended by Clyde is off the chain!
Talk about get r done!
Thanks again Clyde!!
