A Harbor Freight Tools Store is opening up down the road. Do any of you guy have a store near you? Anybody ever been to one. I'm hoping they have some tools for our trade.
I use to love looking through those Harbor Freight catalogs until they built a store locally and I actually seen the quality of the items first hand. There may be some small disposable items that would work for us (hose end sprayers, safety glasses etc... But as for tools, the quality isn't there.
My 12 year old son went with me once and found an aluminum can crusher there, he thought it was cool so bought it with his own money. We got it home and screwed it to the wall, he went to crush a can and the lever broke off at the rivets.
On big plumbing jobs we would by like 4 sawzalls, 2 right angle drills, and a few other items. Spend like $250. Always left it on the job afterwards cuz by that time is wasnt worth crap. Its good for cheap handtools, ratchet straps, tarps, wire brushes, etc.
+1 on the power tools Ed. They seem to be cheap Chinese knock offs. It's still a great store to walk thru and load up on shop rags, duct tape, zip ties and misc. accessories.
Agree, welding helmets, cheap hand tools, gloves, etc.
One good thing about Harbor Freight is their extended warranty. They will replace the item, no questions asked out of their current stock if you bring the broken one in and have purchased the warranty.
I bought a cheap generator there in August to power my 3/4 Myers pump and its been running strong.

I've bought "Pittsburgh" hand tools in the past, and they have always seemed decent and had a good feel. Wrenches, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches,..and the impact sockets seem especially good,...Stanley hand tools from Wal-Mart are decent hand tools as well. I always paint my tools to help them from getting rusty,..seems anything within 50' of hypo ends up corroded. The paint really helps and also makes for instant recognition of sizes by color coding them.

Aint that the truth. I've noticed the same thing. Some of my tools like screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches etc... are in my too box on the front cage of my rig and still seem to get rusted out.
A lot of the tools that I get normally come from Home Depot or Lowes. Lots of times they have great sales on stuff that we use almost everyday.
Sounds like I'm going to enjoy going there. They open on Fri. I think I will take a ride down. Plus there having 40 door prize's. Maybe I will Win something
That's one of those things about going to Harbor Freight, you find things that you didn't know you needed until you go there. I always seem to get behind someone in line at the register that has taken the flyer with them andbought every little gadget that they have on sale and it takes 10 minutes for the cashier to find all the right prices. Have fun!

I like Harbor Frieght Tools cause they are cheap, and "good enough".
Not quite as good as Stanley Tools, but they get the job done, and cost very little.
Harbor Frieght also has a lot of air compressor stuff like water seperators/regulators.
Hahahaha! Mine too! I also believe there is a little dude who comes in the middle of the night and funks all my chit up. Awful funny how everything was working fine when I put it away the night before and the next morning stuff doesn't work. Hmmm!!!

Probably a tool that requires another tool (which they just happen to sell) to make it all work. Bahaha!

Art...I bet you walk out of there with a cart full of goodies. It amazes me when I go in there for a box of shop rags and walk out with four bags of stuff I had no intensions of buying!
Mini crossbow sounds sporting. I do battle with the squirrels in backyard with a pellet gun. Momma calls me Elmer Fud. The crossbow would be even more stealth. I would have to keep the shots low, so I wouldn't have to collect the arrows from my neighbors backyard. Here I come Harbor Freight.
