Just saw Bobs new Fatboy Bandit and tank. Im thinking about buying this for my 1st set up. I would like to know if anyone has been using his original bandit and what people thoughts are on this. Im not against building something on my own it just i have read so many good things about Bob i feel this is a good choice for my 1st set up.

Brian - I don't have the actual Bandit, but I do have all of the parts of a Bandit (minus the skid) from Bob, and have been very pleased.  I think Bruce Sullivan has an actual Bandit set up and has spoken highly of it.  The skid is nice touch.

Im looking to set up in the back of a pickup truck, as im only looking into roof cleaning and not preasure washing or surface cleaning. I like Bruce Sullivans set up, But looking for a skid unit as i may need to have it in a truck one week and in a trailer the next.

Brian if I may, I have learned this year with a few newly trained employees that you would be very well off with a smaller 5850 pump. If youre doing large open surfaces the Fatboy would speed things up. But residential could be more managable with the 5850. It still sprays like a champ and youll probably go thru less SH also. Plus it like half the price. You can plumb 2 inline incase one craps out on you. I just installed one on my box truck and Im very satisfied. I will be replacing 2 other trucks with 5850's which currently have Fatboys. We've been eating up roughly 1000 gallons of SH in 2-3 weeks but I def notice less usage with the smaller pumps and it really hasnt slowed down the jobs.

Ed

Thanks for the info. This is why this forum is great, because info like youre Ed. I have been doing nothing but reading and reading , there is nothing like infp from the real world. Something to think about. I m so tired of reading that i have wanted to quit and just focus on the buisness i already have. Then the other night i was just gonna buy one of each (12v) and (air system) try them both and decide. Thanks for the info.

Brian I dont run my mix thru the reels anymore either. SH eats em up. So my reels only are used to roll up the hose. I use 1/2" quik connects at the end of the hose. The only draw back is having to pull out all of the hose on every job. But leaking swivels and buying new reels is what I'm done with. I suggest not wasting money on an expensive stainless reel.

that invaluable advice from Ed, I also used the 5850 all season and with the exception of a few windy days this fall, i've never had a roof i couldn't reach and i've done some of the steepest/tallest in my county

also he's dead on about the hose reel ... i read that a few times before and it certainly makes sense

and I know you so it doesn't apply to me, but before offering advice or answering a question it's nice to know who you're helping and where they're located. that's why david suggested filling out your signature ... though i'd be polite and cordial, i probably wouldn't be too quick to offer advice to somebody starting a business in my town.

It has absolutely nothing to do with your question. Your question was already answered. If you would have read the stickys when you first came into the premium section you would have known about signatures.  The stickys weren't put their because the powers to be were bored and needed something to do.

Hi Mike

The info Ed provided was great, and even though i have read about 12v systems and have tryed to learn about them on this forum,i havent read anything negative about them at all. The consuption of HS is info that only comes from the fiield and from experience. That type of info is time tested in the field. The leaking of the reel is something i have read about and had a discussion with Bob (pressureTek) and from Lori (PWP) both have not indicated leaking. However i read a post from Mr Tucker and he has abandoned his hose reels alltogether. If i have learned one thing from reading on this forum is that Chris Tucker has a wealth of knowledge and if he says hose reels leak(then they leak).

I currently have an old tire mounted on the wall with a 2" hole I drilled out of the bottom. I wrap the hose inside the tire. Its a little sophmoric but it works and is hands-down the cheapest reel going. I stole the idea from my days of snaking drains and wrapping up sewer snakes.

Tire is a great idea, and do you have it connected all the time and only unroll what you need or do you connect with quick couplings evey time you unroll. Your the moder day McGuiver.
