I'm bored and thought I'd waste some time. This is about content and sort of touches on what Chris Tucker posted earlier about SEO.
New and Original content is one of the most importent factor to rank well in SERP's (search engine results page). No if's and's or but's about it. Google changes their algorithum all the time with Panda being the latest major update. When these updates happen, everyone panics and scrambles to try and "beat" the system. You can post on forums until your blue in the face or pay thousands of dollars to a SEO guru on a backlinking campaign but unless you maintain fresh, ORIGINAL content ... your wasting your time. I assume everyone here has heard that "content is king"? Well it is and it's the one thing Google has never changed in it's algorithum.
Google, Bing and Yahoo have spiders that crawl the web 24/7 looking for original content. New and original content is like crack to these things and they need to be contiuously fed. If a website sits dormant, these spiders get board and won't visit your site as often or at all because there is nothing new to index which in turn will not rank as well as a site that "feeds" these spiders all the time.
If your still not buying what I'm saying...just take a look at this site for an example. There are "spiders" crawling this site right now...they never leave because the wealth of new...original content that continously floods this forum and in return, rewards this site with a PR (page rank) of 3 out of a possible 10. Now you may not think a 3 is a big deal but it is HUGE! This site also dominates the SERPS for MANY keywords that describe this industry. This is not by chance but because of content. Why do you think there is a "war" of forums and people from one forum trying to sway people to join THEIR forum? It's because they need people to post adding CONTENT to their forum and in return, propell them up in the Google ranks. They are not looking for friends or good conversation but CONTENT.
Chris Tucker kicks azz and knows all too well that content is king. If you have ever been to his site...the writing is on the wall. ORIGINAL CONTENT...it's everywhere and takes hours to go through it all. There are in-bound links ... out-bound links ...internal links. These Google spiders have a big fat hard on for his site and is rewarding it with a 3 out of 10 Page Rank and page 1 for a ton of his keywords. If you have ever wondered how a site that appears to be small and has very few pages can dominate a top spot in Google? It's because of content on the back end that is not visable. Here's an common example:
On my server I have written hundreds of articles but on my site there are no outbound links to them and not viewable from my site but in the articles themselves, they link in. Why? I want the "link juice" flowing into my main site not out, while at the same time keeping the Google spiders happy by having something to index.
A friend of mine has a two page site similar to Lending Tree.com that dominates his niche. How? He has well over one thousand artcle pages of content linking in and adds 2 to 3 per day. A lot of work? Yes, but he's on page one for his VERY competitive keywords and is going to retire a very wealthy person before he turns 50.
You can search the web high and low looking for articles to fool Google and leap frog to number one but the big "G" is not the number one, multi billion dollar search engine by mistake. It's not something that just happens over night (months and even years) and takes a lot of work and time. I can almost guarentee that Chris Tucker has more website SEO hours than actual roof cleaning hours. Just remember though...once you reach the top it's not over because you have to maintain that position with........you guessed it..... MORE CONTENT.
If I were a webmaster promoting SEO, this would be the perfect article. It's full of keyword rich content and can not be found anywhere on the internet because it's completely original. Remember...copied content has already ben indexed by Google and is considered duplicate content and can actually hurt your ranking.
OK...I'm done blabbing...time for an ice cold beer and some football!!!

LOL, well thank you. I am glad that someone sees all the boring, tedious work I do, behind the scenes.
Yes, FRESH content is, and will always be King. RCIA must be very careful NOT to allow every post to be moved to the premium side.
good stuff Ray, if you don't mind I'm going to give you a call in the near future. I don't get "in bound links, outbound links, and internal links." I get the fresh content thing but I assume it doesn't mean adding to the actual website, but what it's linked to (facebook, blog, twitter, etc?)
Mike, every post in the open section is an inbound link to your website. An outbound link would be a link in your website that would go to another website. An internal link would be the links connecting all the pages of your website together. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that's how it works.
