Wow it does look like Lichen Did you try full strength? I see some discoloration in the photos on the gutters on the corners, do you also see it or am I wrong?

Took a container with about 2 cups of roof cleaner and tossed it on it. Came back 3 days later and Walla! Gone. 40/60 mix

We had some rain. Nothing big. I knew as soon as I splashed it on that it worked. It changed right away. Not like the first time.

I have seen this stuff in Michigan this year also. I really notice it on trees in the woods. Never seen it last year on roofs, but boy is it getting there now. The funny thing around here is, it seems to grow right at the peak. And, even with rain, there is not enough water flow from the rain to wash it off. Seems to take a stronger mix to kill it. I hit these orange spots with a pump sprayer with a 75 mix.

I had to search but I found this old post. I remember when Dave posted it and I was very worried about seeing it on my jobs here on Long Island! Well I have seen it more and more this year and it is a Bitch to kill. Numerous coats will just slow you down, you gotta hit it with str8 Sh after the first coat or you will be there a while. When I point it out to customers I call it "Elephant Lichen" after it's founder Dave Hoover. Has anyone else up my way been noticing it?

Discussed over the years on other forums,..GOLD MOLD,..is what we termed it. I'm fairly certain that the original poster came up with the finished results by using a combination of mix and agitation. Mold of that physical degree and TYPE doesn't disappear that quickly,..(3 days)... and under the partial shelter of a dormer,..Yea right!

Jeff in agitation I guess they some how are scrbbing it? I'm able to kill it and have had no complaints yet of it not coming off over time. I don't power wash but I have also noticed it on brick and slate, Str8 Sh does not kill it there.
