We are new to the roof washing business. Started about two weeks ago and 5 jobs now completed. The info here has been invaluable! Now...we just booked our first metal roof job. Two story house, about 2800 sq ft. We told the owner it will require a boom lift rental as metal roofs are just too slippery to get on. I could shoot it from the bottom but the roof has a very prominent ridge vent and we do NOT get water in attics due to mold...something which we know very well. Question is...the mix. Our initial plan is to use a 20% SH/surfactant mix versus the 40-60 mix we have been using ( it is the Pac Northwest and we have a LOT of Moss). However...I am wondering if just a heavy surfactant mix applied with our Fatboy pump pump followed by a heavy wash down would be just as effective? Would this be one area where a Percarbonate wash would be appropriate or is that another waste of time...yup, tried it on a test roof on a building on my property versus SH versus our regular commercial fungicide we use in mass quantities in our remediation division (killed the GM...didn't touch the Moss).
