Light color roofs

by not rinsing, the chlorine had evaporated but the residual sodium chloride (table salt) prob continued to break down the dead organic matter allowing the rain to thoroughly rinse the remaining dead matter. Given time they will blend in prob.

being a light color roof any remaining "stain" is just more visible, either needs to be hit with another coat or up your detergent.

I fined Grey shingles are the toughest to clean, even light brown shingles clean up easier. When I see a grey roof I figure double the amount { just because you have to hit a few times and give it time to work} I used to rinse homes for two years.....stop doing it! When you see a grey roof add in more time and solution, spray give it time depending on temp it could be 10 - 15 mins.....reapply and repeat until stains are gone! When you finish you will see no need to rinse because it will look 90% better and like maverick said it will continue working long after your gone and the rain will finish it making it 100%

Light grey is unquestionably the hardest shingle roof color to make look new.

All the advice from Maverick and Roof Cleaning Long Island is right on!

You don't need over 35% SH, you need to keep it wet, no dry spots for as long as it takes to show you it's going to look evenly clen in another 15 minutes or so.

It takes a little getting used to, but after a while, you will recognize when to leave it.
