I am new to the business and I have a few questions I hope hope I can get some help with.

1) Is there any advantage to premixing a surfactant into your main storage tank vs mixing it in your Rig tank?

2)Does the rig tank need an aggitator to keep the product mixed?

3) Is there any problems mixing older SH with new?

4) Is there any easy way to see what % of SH is the the storage tank with out sending it out to be tested? If it has to be sent out could I get a company that does it.

5) Is there a need to filter the SH Storage tank and the rig tank? We have a SH tank on our rig that will gravity feed our mix tank. Do we need a filter in the feed line?

Thanks

Welcome Rodger
I will try to help, but there are some way more experienced that can answer some of your questions.

1) surfactant is the last thing you want to add, as it will start to breakdown the SH, and depending on the surfactant it could be a huge bubbly mess.
2) no , not really depending on what you use , it may need an occasional stir on the job.
3) this is something you will get with experience and no one I know sends anything out for testing, There is a thread to help with clarifying how hot your SH is.
4) None that I have heard of, most of your mix & Sh should not be contaminated with larger particles, but microscopic ones are nothing to worry about. It may also depends on your set up, but generally I would not concern if you keep your mix clean.

If you use the search button on the open side you will find a great deal more info from many,
Search term - filter.. Surfactant, SH testing etc.

Others will chime in soon, patience is King here as most guys are out working most days

Take Care,

I just put my hose end back into the tank and turn it on for about 3-4 minutes before each job.

If you mix old SH with new you are raising the salt content of your solution. NOT good for plants.
