I'm considering taking this class because wood cleaning is a huge PITA for me and I'd like to do it better (FASTER), but I'm contemplating whether it's worth it or not.
I really despise wood restoration and cringe whenever I get a call for it, but maybe it's just because I don't know the best technique or have the proper equipment to make this job easier than it is right now. For exaple, I stripped and sealed a friends deck which is about 600 Sq. Feet, and it took me about 16 hours total to strip it, sand it, and seal it. What a PITA that was, but I'm sure someone else would have had that done in half the time.
Anyone taking the class? If not, got any good sites where good technique is discussed freely?

I don't know if I want to do it unless it's worth it. I've only done 5 or 6 wood projects, all of them were tough for me with little profit! I took them on to learn, but all I'm doing is getting my butt handed to me!

I hate cleaning moldy wood decks, would I do them? Yes. Would I stain or refinish wood decks or wood period? Yes. I just charge an astronomical price and if I get it cool if I don't cool. It is so time consuming to make it look awesome, it takes half the time to make it look good and less time to do a gypsy job like Chris said. I always do the longer version, I have charged 3, 4, 5 and up to 7 thousand to refinish an average boat dock. But I do the whole 10 yards, ceiling, posts, balusters, handrails and deck down to the water line. I get a little too involved sometimes when cleaning, painting or refinishing thinking that I will get the dock next door on either direction which I usually don't since that 1 customer I did is the only one who wants his dock to look good... real good!!!
But I still dread doing them no matter how much money until I start doing them. Funny how that works.

THE ONLY CERTIFICATION IS THE RCIA???
It was a great class and I'm ready to get into sealing some decks. However ever since Tampa I have been soo busy I wouldent even have time to seal anything. If for nothing else I learned how to do a better job cleaning the wood even if I'm not the one to seal it.
