Insurance jobs...

I wanted to this in the members section as to not broadcast this info to general public. I recently hooked up with local contractors who specialize in insurance jobs. They LOVE roof cleaning. Previously thet were having to replace whole sides of roofs to make shingles match. Since I have shown them what spray wash can do, they are SOLD. Saves them money and makes me some to!!!

That is a great way to network.  The only thing I'd tell customers to do if they question wheather or not to have it washed or replaced is to tell them to get a building inspector.  If they get a roofer to inspect, well, he's going to be biased and try to sell em a new roof/overlay.

So very True, roofers want to sell the roof, except us. lol we would rather clean em.. We can do both, but the roofing industry is taking a hard hit this year as the price of shingles has blown up and HO are not wanting to eat the extra cost so the contractor is losing out on his profit margins. I would be careful as to letting the cat out of the bag to roofers too often as they may end up as your competition.
just my 2 cents.

Kim, if there is any roofers on this forum, be it prem. or general pub. side, the cats outta the bag and up on the roof.  I'm just letting other roof cleaners know if they are in a situation where as the H.O. is questioning if spending money to clean it is worth it or are they gonna have to pay to replace the roof in a few years, hook up with some inspectors and give the HO their card.  Local contractors (G.C.'s in particular) is one avenue, licensed Inspectors are another.  Trust me I'm keepin much info on lockdown regarding my local competition (family & friends too). I don't see Pat or Art as competition, there's plenty of work in my current customer files.

We have been getting calls from customers in our area for the same reasons and they are on the rise. Looks like Ins, companies are not insuring homeowners who's roofs are badly infested with mold. Its been a good thing so far for us.

My inlaws had to have their roof replaced last month due to wind damage. Materials were $3200 and labor was $4600. Two full days and 3 employees to complete. Of course they want to replace shingles even if they are just dirty.

Pat, I'll never lowball.  Rather work with with you keepin prices where they should be.

The roofers I know rather upsell relayering than cleaning. Even If they know our service is an option.

this is a new service to my general contractors
