Just curious about what y'all do if a customer complains about an SH damaged shrub? I know we all have gotten the calls or emails at some point, just curious on how you handle it.
I have a customer who is fired up about an evergreen shrub that we damaged. The shrub is about 6 foot high and has a brown line down the side of the thing. He sent me pictures and truly it looks perfectly fine to me, other than the six inch wide line of deadness. I admitted to causing the damage, and assured him that the tree is still living and will recover.
His last email stated that he wants me to either pay for the tree (not sure on the dollar amount) or replace it?
I just sent an email offering $100 as compensation, and not a penny more; also stating that I will not replace a living shrub.
Any thoughts?

To tell IF a shrub is dead or not, simply break the dead branch down the branch every 6 inches or so, and look for ANY Green.
If there is ANY Green, life remains, if not, it is toast.
Cut the dead chit off, flood the Chit out of the ground, and fertilize with miracle grow Miracid Fertilizer, it will grow back. Tell the customer it is better to allow an existing established damaged shrub to re grow, then to plant a new one.

Very good advice Chris!
This is one of the main reasons why we spend a lot of time watching the weather. A lite rain shower immediatly after a cleaning can cause big problems.
We have had very high rain chances here in our area for the past week. 50%-70%. We have been moving all of our roof cleaning jobs in order to avoid any issues. Even tomorrows rain chances are 70% and we have already moved them as a precaution and are only schedualing ground work. Looks like we are working saturday now to catch up but it goes with the territory.
