All the time. The older they get and the more they are subjected to the elements the weaker they can get. What most customers dont realize is that these tiles can actually crack on their own because they need to expand and contract with the heat and the cold. You must be very careful when wanlking them. Try to stay on the areas that overlap. This will be the strongest part. it's not easy as you tend to just want to walk. Also try to stay on the dry sections. You will find out real quick that walking on wet slimy tiles will land you on your butt and it doesnt feel so good.

Those boys up north don't know how good they got it with all those shingle roofs! I was on 1 a couple of weeks ago that had a broken tile every 10 feet. It was like trying to walk on fine china.I took allot of pictures before I even stepped foot on it.

Only 2 tile roofs in Salem that I am aware of. Almost every house has gutters also. I'd say we got er good.

Most barrel tile roofs are rated for 250 lbs, but I'm ONLY abut 240 and I have broken many, many tiles. Like Larry said, try to stay on the overlapping sections, but don't be surprised if you break some. Your best bet is to use a lift or hire a "little person".
