Junk Yard? Nah.... I have a nice F250 crew cab in really nice shape, and is a real work horse. I'd rather maintain it then have a monthly payment.

Good stuff! Sorry you had to spend almost a grand on your truck, but I agree with you on the prices. I gave a guy a price of $469.80 yesterday and he called me and offered $350 because that is what is in his budget to clean his roof... I told him I'd clean the front of the roof for that, but I will not clean the entire roof for $350. A line I like to use, in a semi joking tone, "We are not a car dealership, I already gave you my best price." Depending on the customer, of course.

dam that sucks i would have cut out the converter, went to pep boys for a hack saw a pipe and 2 clamps and fixed it in the parking lot.

Yes your probably right, another great idea. But I got the truck back yesterday afternoon and was back out there today. I will remember these ideas in the future.

Heres a line i used in the tree service when a costumer asked me to climb back up the tree for 1 branch.

"WHEN YOU GO TO SHOP RIGHT(local grocery store) AND BUY A LOAF OF BREAD DO YOU ASK THE CASHER TO GIVE IT TO YOU CHEAPER?????"
It worked every time it was cool to see the look on ther face.
I need to go back to that thanks for reminding me.

Go for it, guys. If they are going on price alone, I don't really care if they go with me or not. It doesn't offend them because most people see car salesman as a joke, or vultures. When you hit them with that line, they know you gave them a firm price and that you weren't holding back on them. If they still don't go for it, well, they weren't meant to be anyway.

Glad you got your truck back, now you can go out and make some more $$$, the right way.

I gave a price of 700 bucks yesterday and the lady said that was to much, so I said I can give you the name of a local guy who will power-wash your roof for a lot less. I then said but let me take some measurements so I can order the materials to replace your destroyed roof. It worked and she signed.
