Compensating for weakened SH

Searching the forum, I've read a few thread talking about increasing the SH to H2O ratio to compensate for weaker SH. Say for example, while starting your business out you do not have access to or do not want to purchase 55 gallon drums of “fresh” 12.5% SH because you may not use it all up quick enough. So instead you purchase 12.5% SH in one gallon containers at the local pool supply store. Per the general consensus of the forum, one gallon containers are not “fresh”.

Let’s assume, the SH has weakened from 12.5% to 10% while sitting on the store shelf. That’s a 20% decrease so I would assume you would need to increase your SH to H2O ratio by 20%. For example 33% SH : 66% H2O would adjust to (33% x 1.20) = 40% : 60% H2O. Is this the correct concept or way off track?
