If you had the choice of moving to a new city and opening a roof cleaning business, softwashing, pressure washing business, where would you go? Would love to hear the reasoning, logic, and justification behind your answer.

W/o any thought at all, Houston Texas! A booming economy, favorable climate for algae, and plenty of huge homes to clean with people that have money.
You'll want to move to where the algae are many but the competitors are few. Oh yea a few more factors to consider include economic growth, schools, state income tax, property tax, business tax, sales tax, affordability of real estate, cost of living, weather, hurricanes, earthquakes, flooding...

Chris it won't be long before they see their share of roof cleaners popping up. It isn't a question of if, just when. With the economy as it is and no real improvement in the future it is prime picking for roof cleaning. Des Moines is prime but has the seasons, which maybe a blessing as it will stop some from entering. Though we have seen our fair share lately. Word travels fast. LOL
As with Des Moines, Chicago land is very season and I do believe that acts as a barrier to entry in the business. I won't be quiting my day job, but roof cleaning is a nice supplement to income.

Oteyde , you are in a great location, Bataiva , naperville, Good money areas, you should do very well up there, My brother was just in sandwich and yorkville as I type this he says the roofs are terrible and couldnt find anyone to clean them.
ahhhh How I wish i was back in chicago sometimes, I could use the L ( Subway) and buses to do my bids instead of driving everywhere... Here my market is 40 miles away and fuel kills me

I made that decision a couple years ago. Kinda personal.
A whole family that adopted me, as I adopted them. Well they moved to Waynesboro Va. I checked it out. No way I'd bring Gutterdogs there and make any money.
If you want to put up with the traffic then Northern Va. is it. Lots of High Tech and government money there. But then again it isn't year round. Or Northern Va. in the summer and a winter home in Houston.

Brett got 7 roofs under his belt.
Good call for the Company.
Wrong Mike, you're going from old info Scott posted a while ago... 14 and counting.... not to mention the house washes. I would much rather be here, less traffic, don't have to lock my ladders, remove stuff from my truck and business is growing, slowly but growing.
