I would look up there business name and see how long they have been around. Also see if there are any name changes or other companies linked to the owner(s) or registered agent. If a company changes their name a lot, it is a good chance they are runnig form vendors they owe. If they accept the bid then maybe ask for some references form other vendors that have worked for them. Google their name too and see if you can find any complaints about people getting burned. I would also ask for 50% down at commencement of work. Most companies i have seen around this area require that much, so it is not unreasonable. That way if there is a problem collecting down the road at least you get enough to cover most your labor and chem costs. The reason I say all this is because a lot of business around here screw vendors. I was talking to a friend that owns a painting company today about collecting money. He told me a company that owes him money still, changed their name and burned the tile contractor out of over a $ 100K. So be careful and I hope it works out for you. GOOD LUCK!! Jon
