Square Up takes 2.75% of each swiped transaction and I got to use it finally last week, 3 times. They took up almost $50.00 of my money in fees. Now, the other problem is that they take it right off the top and now my deposits are mismatched from my invoicing in Quickbooks.
Anyone know how to remedy this issue other than minusing 2.75% from the invoice to make them match? Surely, this transaction fee can be deducted at tax time, so adjusting my invoice is something I don't really want to do?
Thanks for any help or tips.
Phil

I wouldn't adjust the invoice... You should receive a monthly statement from SquareUp and it should balance with your receipts/expenses in the books monthly.
If they paid you 100.00 cash...you bought 10.00 in gas you'd have a 90.00 deposit and a 10.00 expense... hope this "heps you "
I understand that, but what I am saying is that they don't send me a bill at the end of the month. They are skimping what I owe them right from the amount charged. So, I bill $566 and they take $16 and I am left with $550 that they deposit to my account, hence my mix up. I am not a Quickbooks whiz, which is why I am confused on what to do with this. I just signed up for Intuits Card Reader because they say they bill at the end of the month, this will take care of this issue.
