Here is a little trick I use for bagging gutters. I have been using this method since last fall, and have not had a problem with the bags. easy on, easy off.

Great Idea Dave, although I usually use buckets and trays to save money and to keep from exploding a bag.  wink

we don't use bags either, we use small to big buckets then while the ground guys is watering he sticks the end of the xjet hose into the bucket and sprays it on the siding.

How do you get a bucket under them when they are that low to the ground?Last roof I did had about 2-3 gallons of run off per down spout. Do you use a 5er? Do you take the spouts apart?

I also use plastic wear that you store stuff and place under bed, I hardly even ever bag gutters, I have next to no run off on every job, I use the ALL-Flo set up wher I can control things,

Really....I must be using way to much sauce then. I seem to get allot of run off. Last shingle roof I did 3500 sqft. I probably took away 10 gls in run off. It always seems to take 2 coats to get these roofs where I feel comfortable leaving and I'm runnin a strong mix 50/50. Tile is the worst but shingles I like to get them wet enough to where it just starts to slide a little.

What am I doing wrong?

Aaron, you must use a lot of bags. we use small trays from the dollar store and we also cut slots out of the buckets to slip behind the gutters.

look at the pdf file.

Thanks Bob. That IS a great idea. We are constantly going through bags. The only problem I see with us is that the small trays will probably not work too well with the Tile Roofs we do. That tray would fill up real fast. Oh heck what am I talking about... 97% of all the Roofs we do don't even have gutters...LOL. I'm gonna try it on the other 3% though. Thanks for the tip!!!

That's what I'm talkin about too. I hear you guys sayin you only go through 50 gls!!! I'll use that on 1,500 sqft!!

Am I waistin this 5hit or are you guys just misting and goin real slow??

It seems like most roofs take me with a ground man about 3-4 hours. Not rushing.

Aaron  i think it was your pic that I had seen where you were spraying the roof from the bottom to the top, spray the top  let the love roll down, then fill in the dry spots, this will help you on your run off,

2-3 gallons is a lot of run off

Look at the picture I posted (above) you can see we go from the top down walking forwards stopping 2 foot from the edge...

Sorry Dave I still like your idea about using tent straps to hold the bags on biggrin

Just noticing the differences. Some clean from the bottom up, some from the top down. Some use bags, some dont. Some use buckets, some use trays.

Its just interesting to see all the different options.

You guys up north clean mostly shingle roofs. Down in south Florida the majority of roofs (that people will actually pay to clean) ate tile roofs. You can't walk from top down cleaning because you won't get all the faces of the tiles. Unless I'm missing something?? I don't like walking tile roofs to clean but end doing so anyway because it just seems quicker. I normally start at the top and walk forward side to side and then move down and do it again. Spraying from a ladder doesn't seem to work real good when cleaning barrel tile. You are always getting down to move the ladder a couple feet. Unless you just flood the roof but most don't have gutters and I don't want to risk killing all the landscaping. If there is a better way, I would love to know. Jon
