Hard time bidding jobs

I am having a hard time bidding some jobs on some villas. I did some a while back and way under bid them. Actually I under bid a lot of jobs in the beginning, but that's beside the point. The villas I did then were around 15,000 sq ft per building and I could do three in a day. So let's call it 40k ft per day. At $0.15/sq ft that's $6,000 in one day. I think the association will see how quick I can do them and say I am making too much. I am just wondering how far some of you go down on your /sq ft price for bigger jobs. I am not worried about making money per say, I just don't want to be one of those guys that brings industry prices down. Jon

I just got killed on a bid for 45,000 sq ft. office buildings Barrel Tile 7 buildings with about 40 small overhangs above the entryways. The roofs were not that dirty but it had foot traffic 6 days a week and heavy foliage, scattered gutters.

some guy bid it at $3200.00,

go for it and hey take your time, talk to the community while you are there. Let them get to know you if you can.

Just the roofs, but I guess he looks at it as well if it takes me 2 weeks to do, then so be it.. really fine beer money I guess he can upgrade this month to premium beer. lol.

Jon, I wouldn't look at it as if they would think you are making too much. That's a lot of roof to clean and 40k sq. ft. of roof would be a substantial amount of cleaning solution, too. How far far did you come off of your normal sq. ft price?

I honestly don't want say. But I was really desperate for work and beat another guys price. Let's just say it was under $0.10/sq ft and I won't go that low again. Jon
