I think what Chris Tucker is doing "NOW" is real and that if the other "something" was better, Chris would have continued that. Obviously, what he, as the owner of this place and perhaps the foremost, expert on roof cleaning here is doing, although not what you and a few others wanted? IS WHAT'S REAL. Might as well face it. The majority spoke, Chris heard and this is the way it is-take it or leave it.

My take on it is this, you are certified by the RCIA, but who, or what is the RCIA? At this point, it is a forum of roof and exterior cleaners, not a true association or organization.

I was also hoping for something more, and it may be more in the future, but for now the certification is good for marketing, and does give some credibility to those who possess it. However, I am comparing this to bigger certifications like Microsoft, or ASE, things that are far more than certification by members of a forum. To me, the certification here is valuable, but if a customer checks in on the RCIA to see what the certification is all about, what will they think?

However, I am new to the cleaning industry, maybe this type of certification is valid enough?

With that said, you are right, you can't please everyone! I just hope it's good enough to be used elsewhere because I have a feeling that another organization is going to end up being the "real" industry recognized certification provider, which is not what I, or anyone else wants.

Phil, you hit the nail on the head. I always appreciate your thoughts.

The only difference in this cert and the old one are a couple webinars and $300. Brett you should be PISSED

I think it is perceived value. If you value what youve learned here, consider this place important, then in your voice you can pass that on to the customer.

All the tecnical chit, org, forums, etc. Blah blah blah.

Alot of that, I dont know the difference. Do you really think a HO would?

Just because I think the cert is BS, just like the last one, doesn't mean I don't like the board. Chris you know I think its BS I've never hidden it. The ony difference between this one and the last is it costs money. I don't blame you for making money, have at it.

I understand your frustration. Please allow the new leadership to have the space to do something with all of this. I asked for those who hunted me to judge a tree by its fruit and we should allow them the space to bear fruit. We have to be the example and keep things on the high road.

Step back if you can and lets see what develops.

If you don't like things here as the owner wants them, why not go to the site you posted about RCIA on?

As the new rules state clearly: "If you have a problem with someone, communicate thru PM’s, not the forum." So, I will not waste my time trying to explain something that will lead no where. I think Chris also said it clearly in an earlier post!

Whether anyone thinks the Cert. is BS or not, lets not forget several Guys put a lot of time, free time into getting this together. And they have my thanks.

Lets be real for a minute, most certifications are for "Marketing" purposes, you guys understand that, right? Just because you belong to the BBB doesn't mean you're a "Better Business" you understand that right? Just because you belong to the RCIA, UAMCC, PWNA or whoever makes you better at what you do.....really?

NO IT'S MARKETING!!!

True and Real Certifications should cost Thousands Of Dollars!!! And Still What Would It Prove???

Well its a good thing Chris understands that there can be a difference in opinions and doesnt run his site like a dictator.

BTW, I do go to that site, and a few others. Disagreeing with something someone does doesnt mean I dont have respect for that person. That would be rediculous to even insinuate that.

I do find it hilarious that you guys had such a problem with AC (the vendor) making money on stuff that was tangible and worth something, but have no problem with paying $300 for a logo. The big difference in you all and me, is that Im not a hypocrite. I am OK with BOTH. If someones willing to pay for something, by all means sell it to them.

Brett, please PM me what you would like to explain. Believe it or not, I dont have an agenda and never have.
