A friend of mine who works for a very well known gutter guard company saw my recent roof cleaning work and approached me to see if I was interested in doing business with them. My answer, OF COURSE! Why wouldn't I want to do business with a company who sees thousands of dirty roofs per year?
I'm new to this type of thing and she is going to present my business information to the owner of the company on Wednesday.
Is there anything I should watch out for or any type of arrangement that would be preferred? Obviously, I'd prefer them to just refer the work to me and I'll refer work to them, but I'm not sure how this is going to happen until I speak with the owner.
Any advice at all would be much appreciated. I'm about to jump out of my seat right now, but I'll try to settle down shortly...

The only terms I agree to is, you give me work, ill send you 10%. Period.
If you are hoping a referral swap agreement will work, it won't 99% of the time. You send someone money, and they'll be your biggest salesperson. Even if someone says not to send them a fee, do it anyways.

+1. The young man from Houston is a pretty smart fella
I'm in a similar arrangement Phil, but I send 20% (not that you should). If this gutter guard company is big, they'll likely send you a lot more biz than you could send to them.
I just closed on a job from this type of arrangement a few days ago, a small job, quoted ar $420. I'll pay the 20% on that. I've since landed some of their neighbors and now have $1240 in biz lined up. I won't pay the 20% on the balance. Works great for all involved! Good luck!
Ted, that's a good way to look at it and that is true, they will offer me much more. However, they just started replacing roofs, so they could have a lot to gain from me if a roof was in need of replacement, rather than cleaning....
