A roof guy I know uses muriatic acid to kill roof moss, followed by zinc or galvanized metal strips for maintenance. Does anyone have experience or an opinion regarding muriatic acid for this purpose? Thanks.
That is not the correct way to handle moss. Muriatic Acid (Hydrochloric Acid) is nasty stuff. On shingles,. just use a typical roof mix as discussed in various threads on here. On slate you can add some Hydroxide to boost it up some. But ditch the idea of the Muriatic Acid.
It can't hardly be diluted enough to make it safe to work around and yet remain effective. Spraying this stuff will burn anything it comes in contact with quickly.
