Is there a technical term for this?

Just wanted to know if there was a technical term for the little pieces of shingles that pop up from the edge of Architectural shingles.  The little tabs work great at catching pine straw and are a royal pain to deal with. 

It there is not a term, we should create on. I've been calling them "annoying little ba$tard$"....but that's not very professional!

I am not exactly sure how it came about, but this is the laminated part of the shingle known as the "Dragon Tooth". I believe if you remove this part of the shingle from the base layer you end up with what looks like teeth.
