Not sure what you mean by sales rep??? I have a "sales rep" through Sherwin William's that I use for paint related help. Or are you talking about someone to do sales for you??

Sales Rep = a person employed to represent a business and to sell its merchandise or service smile

I have a sales rep....my wife! She is incredible at getting to the decision maker and cold calling. Seriously, she has gotten me the opportunites to give out over 30K in commercial quotes in the the past 45 days. If even half of this business hits, i'll need a second crew/rig.

Sales is my weakness so I was thinking about hiring an independent sales rep. I'm going to wait and see how the first part of the season goes before I make my decision.

Sales was my weakness when I first got started. Clean a few roofs, gain the confidence in your service, and selling becomes easy when you believe in your work. Repeat your sales pitch over & over in front of a mirror until it rolls off of your tongue and not longer sounds prerehearsed. The more you do it the easier it gets.

How is a sales rep going to do anything for you if he has never cleaned a roof and therefore not believe in the service. Customers buy from confident sales persons. Just ask Scott Davis.

I have a sales person, but I was lucky. She has been in the roof and exterior cleaning business for 10 years... So I didn't have to train her much at all.

Not much golf now. I used to play for a living in which I played 36 holes a day and hit 1000 balls on the range. Now it's all about running the company.

But yes I was very lucky to have found this lady. She was actually trained by AC, left his company for another which went out of business recently and came looking for a job about a month ago. This lady can sell!!!! I may be able to hit the links again!!! Haha.

Get good at the sales bro and bring in a rep as well. In most cases you will have to train your sales rep so you will have to be confident and organized with a sales plan when you hire. Adding sales personnel is a necessary part of any growing business.

I have been through (3) sales reps, currently have no plans for more. I dunno....need a break from them, maybe it was timing, probably my hiring, again I dunno.....but definately so far.....not a great return.
