We were ask to bid on cleaning the roof of a La Quinta and what I thought to be a barrel tile roof is not. The tiles are more of a fiberglass/plastic with gradulars like a single roof. I was wondering if anyone else has encounter this and what mix did you use. Instead of a roof mix I thinking it may need more of a house wash or somewhere in between.
I've installed quite a few LaQuinta roofs and typically they use a product called Decra or Gerard. You can look up either of those products and the cleaning recommendations are under the technical bulletins.
Hey Phil,..although it's always good to start with a light mix and move up,...but if you tried to clean asphalt shingles with the strength manufacturers recommend you'd be there all day and in many cases it may not ever work. Point being, don't count so much on the percentage they recommend,.you'll end up wasting effort.
I haven't any idea what this roof is like or it's condition,..but fiberglass can be tough to clean sometimes if it's in degraded condition. I've done a few of the old corrugated fiberglass roofs and it took a strong mix to clean in every case,..but most were in rough condition.
Decra and Gerard makes metal roofing stone coated, just like Metro Roof. Go to their websites, heres one metroroofs.com to learn more about their products and how to clean them. hope this helps, rick
