That was all softwashed with watered down roof cleaning mix and a garden hose (we do not own a pressure washer)
My good friend larry from all surface says it is better to downstream then use a chemical pump for softwashing, but we use what we have. We are 85 percent roof cleaners only, but sometimes we hustle up a soft wash job or 2.

 

Most all of the Exterior Washings we do are done using a down streaming method. Pool Decks and Enclosures, House and Building Exteriors etc...are also done the same way. We do occasionally run into a job here and there where we MUST use our Roof Cleaning Pumps to apply a stronger solution to kill Mold and Algae but it is rare. All of the Decking on Pools, Concrete etc... are all done using a Surface Cleaner and all rinsing is done by using a Pressure Washer.

We have been doing softwashing for a while, it works well on almost any surface, but there is a place for pressure.

We have some plastic thingamajiggys that we used to place in the sides of the driveways, still use them for really dirty driveway softwashing sometimes. But plenty of water usually does the trick, and some customers actually like the "chemical edging" LOL

I started washing houses in 1996. I've always used soft washing as the method. With house washing pressure alone won't clean properly anyhow. Soap does the cleaning and water does the rinsing,...and neither need not be applied at high pressure. Now ,...having enough GPM is a different matter altogether.

Did you ever use the roller pump for softwashing Jeff ?

 

Yea Chris,..I used the roller pump set up years ago to apply soap,..and then I'd use the washer to rinse.

These days I downstream,..very simple to just have a tri-nozzle holder and have soap dispensing in fan and straight,..along with the ability to rinse. I don't even use a wand anymore,..just the trigger handle.

  Yes you're right it does take some time to get all the soap out of the line.

How long does watered down roof mix need to dwell on flat concrete & what, if any, effect does TSP have on concrete?
