Ok since the last post has been closed due to off topic discussions. Im bring it back up here. Im not the only one with questions due to problems in Houston. I have yet to clean a roof but want to do things the right way when I do get started.

Hello I have a Question for Ron. You say it is illegal to clean roofs in Texas without certification from the state of Texas. But even if you get certification you say we cant use chemicals. So my question is. How does this certificate help us none pressure roof cleaners? Also how can i find out more information on becoming a certifide roof cleaner by the state of Texas.Im just wondering is it a class you have to take or do you just have to pay for it. Any information would be helpful thanks.

Thats the entire problem guys, we do not need the goverment destroying our industry. they are looking at mobile cosmetic cleaners as poluting criminals.

We need to unite and fight this!!!

I careless about the brotherhood of the RCIA right now, everyone seems to think this is about getting members. You do not need to be a member to be concerned about this. member or not this will effect everyone in any state. 8 States showed up at this conference to possibly model what houstons done.

We as mobile cleaners around the country need to act and rally a program to stop this from happening on a larger platform.

Yes the certificate is so when they catch you they can site you with a higher fine or as they say arrest you.

They have people they have even locked up, it sounds nuts. I really didnt believe it either until I went.

Why does the Government have to stick its big ugly foot in everything? Damn, how in the world can any wash ANYTHING without a cleaner? I know its real, but they are essentially looking to knock thousands of people out of work, and/or nail us with heavy fines and jail time, for what? I'm failing to see how this is helpful, at all.

From what I read on another site it is just pressure washers calling the cops on each other. And the reason is you are not supposed to let any thing but rain water down the storm drains so you have to retain the water/chem before it reaches the drains.

Also you have to have a licence to pressure wash and another license to travel with the wast water after it is collected. Then you have to pay to dispose of the wast water. The guys who are doing it the right way are the ones calling the cops on the ones that are not.

Joe, I don't think it has anything to do with reclaiming the wash water, that should be done anyway, if possible. I think it has to do with using chemicals, period! That is not good and we need to fight that.

They are reporting each other your right. They are also now reporting roof cleaners, we sat by a couple in the class. Thats how we found out they will be prosecuting roof cleaner using chems.

This is not about pressure washing, they are concentrating on Carpet cleaners right now. Roof cleaners are already on there radar.
