Ok guys, hows about we put the "required reading" threads of the RCIA all in one place, for the newcomers. Let's make it easy for them to come up to speed on roof cleaning. Why dont some of you reveal the threads at RCIA that have taught you the most and why, and post a link to them in this thread ? I am going to TAG this thread as Newcomers Required Reading, so it will pull right up in a RCIA Forum Search! I MIGHT even make it a sticky, or even create a "Roof Cleaning Novices" subforum all it's own.
I like it, I feel bad for them some times for all the searching they must do, when i came here 2 yrs ago, the forum was in its infancy and finding threads was easy for there was none. Great Idea Chris

Here are some of the thing I searched for. Sales, yard signs, advertising, certification, cold waether, demos, flyers, equipment, green apple, Billy Bob, insurance, post cards, prices, respirators, training, TSP.
Of course it is a great idea. Now quit filling this thread with a bunch of back slapping, oh how I love you nonsense and get to posting something on topic.
Ok, Please include post on hot weather cleaning cause here in Mississippi in the summer by 8 AM you can't touch a roof it's so hot. Also marketing, pumps, building websites, tip sizes, educating customers to roof cleaning, over coming customer concerns, legal issues, safety, using lifts, scenerios to be careful of, ETC. ETC. ETC.
That is a great idea Chris,..and it should slow down the "beginner" questions from the new guys. There is truly enough information here for anyone to start a qualified roof cleaning business without having to ask even one question.
Questions are good,..but the same questions always seem to arise,..what pump,..what hose,..how much...etc...
I personally find it more interesting to go through all the posts,...you never know what tidbits you may learn.
I have a hard time reading most things, but I find that topics I'm interested in seem to come a lot easier to me. When i found this forum I was looking for answers. What I found was a place with a mountain of knowledge that was built by a lot of different people here. Each their own character, and as I read more and more I could almost start building a sense of what each member here was like. I'd have to agree with Jeff here and say that there was a lot of tid bits that I picked up from all that reading. Not just personality traits, but useful information that I don't think a person will get if they read one thread. I still like this idea, but think it may be better suited for a page in the premium member side. Just my 2 cents...

That's where I wanted this thread to be when I mentioned it.

Great idea!! I'm a newcomer and would really appreciate all the information I can take from some of the Guru's of roof cleaning. I have a painting business and am thinking of expanding my business by adding roof and house cleaning.
