Before you take them and put them in your high traffic spots take a hole punch and put a hole at the bottom middle then use a plastic wire tie and secure it to the holder. That way if the wind starts blowing hard it will not come off. I've had a few this year blow off of the holder.

Nice post, we starting using zip ties a few years back for the same thing. Also when it does come to those yard signs find out about the zoning. Here in Virginia Beach and surrounding areas your not allowed to post yard signs on city property. They call and give you a warning then after that it is 1000.00 dollar fine, just a heads up you might want to check on.
Another good tip though we give discounts to put them in a yard on a house we have cleaned and leave it for 1 week or 2 then go back and get it.
I live in a new town ( 10 yrs old) and they are very very strict about yard signs. To the point where they have a man drive around everyday for 8 hours taking them down and calling the people. They have never fined anyone that I know of but they threaten to.
We have offered the free sidewalk clean or something small to keep the sign in the yard for a week or so but the HOA's are so darn crazy around here that the signs never last more than a day or two at most...

I do the same thing with H/O. Give a discount for how long they will leave it in the yard. Give them a choice for time and discount or $$ off final price. 1 week $20 2 weeks $30 1 month $50. A lot of the H/O go for the month.
We do the same but there is one HOA that will not even let you put them in someone's yard. I have done a few roofs in a division that is across our storage, all the roofs in there are horrible. We put out about 500 door hangers in November and got 3 roofs and 3 house washes, 2 driveways, 2 gutter cleaning jobs. Not bad for 500 door hangers but I tried to put in yard signs and everyone said HOA does not allow them in peoples yard, what a bummer.
LOL, stalk your yard signs or competitors will take them down, they take ours all the time. Welcome to Roof Cleaning in Tampa nowadays. It kind of sucks to have some people you helped get into roof cleaning locally in Tampa turn on you, and steal your signs.
Just put some greese and food dye on the back of the sign. When they jump out of there car and grab the sign. They get a surprise that lasts a good week. And they always leave the sign just where they found it. All you got to do is put it back up.
I am sure some may do that, but there is a public city truck for the zoning of the city and I have seen him a few times over the years with 20 to 50 yard signs in the back of the truck. His job is just that drive around and pull them up.
What's interesting is about 2 years ago I had a heating and air condition company owner call me up and left a real nasty message on my voice mail because I put up about 50 signs in a 8 mile radius from our warehouse. This guy talked, bad mouth, and cursed me out on the phone for doing it. I was just like wow you really must not be busy to be worried about me and my business.
YOu can always get a paint ball gun and take out your competitions yards signs, lol, just kidding, but somewhat funny, have a good new year.
