I would be sure to put your advertisment in open view in a clear ziplock bag, I wouldnt fold to the point they would have to remove it from the bag to look at it.
What are they going to do put their blinders on and totally refuse to look at it,
Im not having any luck with it either. So far I got one call that I couldnt close, and 1 complaint. I havent passed out thousands yet but I still expected a little more action.
Pat, use this to your advantage... It can be your foot in the door. Knock on the doors where you see these other bags and ask the home owners about this type of marketing because you were thinking of doing it. Do they like it or not? You can easily turn the conversation to educating consumers about roof cleaning... If they're interested at all, they'll start asking you questions. Be sure and some of your fliers handy to show them.
Look at it as an opportunity staring you in the face. its like laterale thinking, I think.

I think its all luck Ed, once I threw out about 200 and I got like 2000.00 in business
a month later I threw 1000 out and got not one single call.
and preparing those bags and slinging them out is a lot of work.
I'm not saying it doesn't work, I have handed out 4,000 and got 6 calls so far. This is really good in Dec. We have completed 3 of them, the others said they couldn't take the hit before Christmas.
I was just wondering if a bunch of local contractors start throwing bags will the HOA or someone put a stop to it, and will Home Owners just stop looking at it....or look at it and not use our company bc they hate rock flyers?
Hey guys, I have not tried to distribute fliers this way. Everyone in my area has a paper box mounted either under or next to their mail box. I just drive from house to house reach out my window and insert a flier and go to the next. It is Very fast, I can do a few thousand a day. Does anyone else have neighborhoods setup this way? My flier campaigns have been very successful.
I live in an area were there are new subdivisions going up everyday. Most are only a few years old. Every house has a mailbox at the road with a separate paper box. This is were everyone down here puts fliers, as it is legal. I'll get some pics this week and post.
The Radio Show was great guys....
