There is professional info regarding that in the "paid members section". You MAY also find some info in that topic on the home page.

Hey my young VA brother.  Check your PMs.  It's great to know that you're ready to get rollin'.

Good luck to you.

Great post Matthew, roof solution  bleaches it out and softens the wood fibers

Yea but it doesn't damage the wood, and gives it a much better looking finished product.

Yes tarp it. Then be careful with the run off when removing the tarps. Any splatters on wood will cause problems. The wood/stain will change colors if touched by the sauce.

I hate to throw this out there, but using SH mix does soften the wood and fibers. It does clean but it is not good for the wood. I have multiple wood paddles I mix chemical with and usually about every 3 to 5 months I need a new paddle for stirring my mix. You have a certain mix to use on wood, plus you do have company's that sale wood cleaner that is not SH base. Good luck.

Thanks James.  (That's what I was eluding to in my last post above.)

In addition to tarping as 'Bama mentioned, I'm a proponent of impulse sprinklers  set on 360 degree go-fast, which floods the surface with water

We tend to tarp fences and secure them with poly spring clamps.

Lots of ways to skin a cat so to speak.

Never Never Never use SH on wood. Scott and James are right, it might be convenient and quicker since you have the mix already there but it damages the wood. It is the lazy and unprofessional way to do it. Period!!!

That is true, but you just use the right chemical for wood, right pressure to clean then follow up with a neutrilizer/ brightener and your in there. If you don't want to do that just wet the wood down with water heavily before/during/after the roof cleaning job.
