Call Harcros Chemicals in Pasadena Tx.  They are 15 miles or so from Houston.  My local Harcros quoted me $1.65 a gallon.

Shop around, always keep shopping. You can use this information much in the way customers use it to get the price close to what they are looking for.

I'm going to suggest YOU call them and find out if they sell everything YOU need. My chemical needs may be different than yours.

I haven't started selling yet. This market is wide open though as there are probably less than 10 roof cleaning companies in the entire Houston Metro area, 3 of which are members on this board. Scott with Confident Roof Cleaning could most definitely give you a better idea as to seasons here as I believe he's been in business several years and appears to be succesful at it.

Without derailing this threqad, Shanes method is FAR from what we do. No comparison. He sprays a chemical on, then pressure washes it off. RCIA cleaners do not use any pressure. He does seem to be a good business man though.

Shane (owner of Texas Roof Clean) is an excellent roof cleaner and businessman.

Shane is excellent at shortening the life of you roof with high pressure.  Steer clear of any association with him.

do you think he doesn't have to wash down landscaping because he uses a high volume of water that dilutes the chemicals so much that they don't affect the landscape.. does he apply a chemical then wash it off or is the chemical in the pressure wash... just curious.. i know my father in law said his mix was a closely guarded secret and he wouldn't tell him what he used...

He's probably using sodium percarbonate.  That's what I was using when I first started out;  before I found this wonderful site. Thanks guys for all the info.

I know for a FACT that Shane doesn't use high pressure methods as I've personbally been on his job sites and have felt the "mist" of water that comes out of his modified pitch witch. I can guarantee that a standard garden hose hooked up to a spicket has more pressure than what he's rinsing with. I cannot attest to the chemicals he uses and what effect they may or may not have on shingles as I haven't researched them.

Just because someone doesn't use the EXACT methods found here doesn't mean they're doing it wrong.

so do you guys think he doesnt have to have a ground man because he is rinsing with enough water to dilute the chemical he sprayed on the roof... or is the chemical sprayed in the wash coming out of the pitch witch

The pitch witch does apply pressure and knocks granuals off the roof.  His method is not approved by ARMA for cleaning roofs.  You never put any pressure on a composition roof.            Yes, it looks clean but how many granules did it dislodge and how long will it last?
