Heat wire / deicing cable

 We just landed a job today that has deicing cable.  I was originally going to ask if the love would hurt the cable in any way.  But I've decided since the customer says it's no longer in working condition and she's going to have it replaced, we will remove it before we clean at an additional cost of course.  Then I got to thinking, how hard can it be to replace this for the customer.  We also offer handyman services, but I've personally never installed any before.  Has anybody ever done it?  How hard is it to wire it at the house or is it a plug and go?

The roof deicing cables usually are wired into a control panel with sensor but i have seen some wired to a switch and also plug in. There not hard to install but research which product. Also not sure about electric license laws in your area.

We refuse to do any jobs with heat trace or Christmas lights up for that matter. WHen they get the down then we can do the job. Just not worth it.

Bucks County. Why's isn't it worth it? We offer handyman services also and love doing new and challenging things other then roof washing.

I've seen those pool warmers all over Orlando but only a few up my way.  How is a roof cleaned with one of those beasts on it?  Will the SH damage it?
