OK so i had a 40 gal. tank and put 15 gal. of SH and 1/2 gal. of ISP with a big bottle of apple Ajax.. seem to work real good ,, didn't rinse but it left a film on the roof.. is that normal? but its going to rain tomorrow so i hope it will be OK... the pics are from today when it was still wet.. so how did i do?
you used too much surficant. Thats what it looks like, from what ive heard. Honestly I dont know if rain will help or what. I suppose it should take care of it. I hope it does. Today I noticed dry surficant, apple butter, stuck to the side of 5 gal bucket? I had to use my fingers and water to get it off. May the roof Gods be with you and it turns out ok.
How did you apply it? 15 gallons of SH or household bleach? How big of a bottle of Ajax?

If you left the left side like it looks in the middle pic, you'll need to go back and hit it again. And you might as well just do it before it rains, that way you know it'll look good.
it was SH from a pool supplier, and a regular bottle of Ajax. ,, yes the left hand side needs more ,, must of had some other mix when i first sprayed.. i started from that side.. how much SH should i of user in a 40 gal mix?

True that on the left side. If the soap is dry and glossy that is too much surficant. I adjust my surficant by the pitch of the roof. That roof wouldve gotten 1 cap, then 2 cap fulls, then 1, per 5 gallons of mix. Pouring and topping off the 5 gal bucket pulling from. Averages cap and half. Very equal to just some squirts of Dawn per 5 gal.
Been a while since I used Dawn. A gallon of apple butter can last a while if you only do a couple a week.

I work with a 5 gal bucket. My mix is always fresh. 40 gallons diveded by 5, times gal n half of SH.
The stuff you get from a pool supplier is different.
yepppppers, gonna have to the left again , no biggie, a learning experience, when u still see black hit it again , if its light brown or beige mother nature will take care of it, i really dont see where you are using to much surfacant,a full bottle is to much if its over 50oz, a half bottle is suffient, no biggie though
Great job fellow roof cleaner
Dave

You're gonna have to spray the left side again. Your mix seems to be right. In the past, we would use 3 bottles of ajax in a 100 gal. mix, so I wouldn't hesitate to use 1 in a 40 gal mix. Spray the left end again, and the rain will wash the rest clean.
Nice job getting the motel....their hard to get, well for us anyway. We use 55gal drums for our mix and back in the day we used half a jug of soap. hope this helps.

I think after you hit the left side once more you will be fine after the rain. Rain is a good thing. Not only does it make corn & corn makes whiskey, but it also helps us out in 2 ways in my opinion. 1) It gives the previous jobs we've done a good rinse and afterwards you can really tell the difference. 2) It feeds the algae of the roofs that are still dirty and need a cleaning making them look worse over time and therefore the homeowners are going to be more willing to call us!

What?? I have a really hard time understanding what you are talking about some times Mike. Do you use 5 gallon buckets to pull from or do you have a tank. Im lost buddy.
