Where do you guys get the connections for your 275 gallon totes. I want to connect a 1" I.D. hose to it to supply my PW and fresh water for LoveMix. Tractor Supply or HD?
Thanks

Local home improvement store should them. I got ours at Lowes.

Note: be causous of the Totes with flapper valves, they can dislodge and restrict flow quickly. The Totes with the ball valves are much more reliable.

Wait a minute.  You mean you can use that as a supply of love?  I was feeding through a cut garden hose via the top of my 275 gallon tote.  Never thought of hooking anything up to the valve.  What do you need to convert it to garden hose size and thread?

You can but I'm not. I'm going to install a 1" hose to go to my pressure washer. It will be filled with clean water.I'll also be able to quick disconnect it to supply water to my 55 gal. barrel for Love. I'm going to install a ball valve so I won't have to use the one that is on there. I will just leave that one open all the time.

The Totes are great for H20 but I'm not sure I would use them for love. For one you'd have to have a lot of roofs to do or one big job. Second, a full 275gal Tote will put you well over the 1000 lbs. DOT regulation. We normally haul them empty or with a minimal amount of water in them, fill them up when we get to the job.

Bottom drilled tanks will eventually leak the love. There is really no way around it. Also those tote tanks are very thin walled, a minor accident could easily rupture the tank and end up putting you in a very tricky situation.

Have you researched the Tote manufacturer? They should be able to tell you where to find what you need.

Wanted to give you my $.02 on totes and the valves. I just found out two weeks ago  the ball valves do eventually leak. It wasn't a big hassle to fix, but it did wear out in 9 months of use. It was also a day out of service to fix them.

As far as connecting to the totes, you'd be better off using the 2" thread, rather than the coupling, much better seal, etc. Just hub it down to what ever size you need. I have used two different types of hubs on my input/output this year, ( black plastic, and aluminum) and have had to replace both.  The love can make the plastic brittle, and just eats up the aluminum ( especially when your ball valve in the tote leaks and causes a slow chlorine drip.)

Hope this helps.  Alos, my totes we actually designed to carry SH....bought them with SH warning labels already in place.

Those connections should work with just a regular 2" threaded coupler from any plumbing supply place, HD, or Lowes. Don'd glue it, just apes it real well. That way you can remove it when the ball value leaks....and it will

I am using it just for water. LOWES didn't have anything with threads that coarse. At the agri store the guy said he has about 3 people a week coming in looking for exactly what I was wanting.

Does yours have the dual connectors, both threaded and the cam-lock compression style?
