That is funny! The only problem is that the drill is a Ryobi. There batteries are weak and that drill will burn out in no time, if it turns the reel at all.
sweet setup! I'm charging up my Black & Decker 18v as we speak!
What manifold do you have in the reel? I'm wondering if I run a 1/2 inch manifold doesn't that make a 5/8" hose pointless with the bottleneck it would create?
I have the Titan motorized reel. I dont have the specs on hand but its a pretty decent motor. It can draw up to 45amps. Though I know it hasnt come close to that because Im running it on a 30 amp fuse. When theres 100ft or more of hose to roll up you can hear that motor stepping up to draw in the hose. With that being said Im a bit curious as to how your setup will work. I will say it doesnt. But good luck brother! Keep us up to date.

Just trying to make a wise decision on upgrades.
thanks
I have the SS manifold full 1/2" ss super swivel hose reel. Can you tell I'm reading the invoice? 200' Red Kuri Tec Hose. I've noticed that about the Ryobi. I thought it was just me. Didn't think a company would make their batteries so pathetic. I was wrong. It rolled up the hose great. Of course there isn't any water in them yet. I am getting the DeWalt impact wrench. I heard it was Bad azz. You guys with the air compressors have it made. Just hook up your air impact gun and yer set.

I don't know. Sounds right. I just bought what Lori told me too...lol She wouldn't over sell me.

The big problem with your idea is torque. If you'll notice, all power driven reels have extreme reduction between the motor sprocket and the sprocket on the reel.
And, no, the 1/2" manifold won't affect anything. The OD of a 1/2" nipple is the same as the OD of a 3/4" hose barb.

Yes, the Dewalt impact wrench is bad has definitely surprised me with its torque. As soon as I saw your drill setup, I instantly thought of the Dewalt impact wrench as a better option. I would think if you pulled the hose close to the trailer and laid it out like a snake it would work. Keep us posted.
bought my hose reel from lori in july(second one) and already the swivel is leaking. I have got to find a better hose reel and swivel. It is a stainless steel swivel and manifold.

If it's a Super Swivel, and you get it right when it starts to leak, they're easily rebuildable. If it's let go for a while until the leak gets worse, the housing could be damaged.

Holy cow! That's not right. It has to be a reject. I learned a long time ago that just because it is new doesn't meen it works. Even the factory can screw up.
