Using a roof setup to wash houses.....

I know that this has probably been talked about before but I'm gonna ask now.....

Do any of you (or have) used your roof setup to clean homes with?

I just think this would be awesome in theory. Just one tank to mix. No downstreaming. No noise or gas. I'm guessing I could just put a 3 way in line to cut off chemical and go to rinse.

Give me some opinions and suggestions.....

Thanks in advance....

I did and it worked great. I sprayed down the vinyl and the ground guy rinsed. I hear it would be a bad thing tho if you were using tsp in your mix.

use only as strong as needed, when siding is covered with mold I use strong, other wise I use weak.

Garden hose, low pressure just like the wash. Let the solution do the work.

I haven't used a pressure washer to wash a house since 1998! I use my "roof  set-up". Typically on a house my mix will be around 8% SH

Just using the magic of chemistry to do the work for you rather than the power of pressure!

Sometime stubborn brick will require a bit of pressure, but 90% of the time my softwash pump can handle most any housewashing task!

xjet the chemical on then xjet the chemical and mold off. The nozzle on an xjet only puts out 900-1000 psi that will not do any damage and is still used as a soft wash method.

How are you rinsing? I know I can use the customer's hose but yesterday I did a house needed rinsed over 30 high. The hose alone would never make it. Are you just hooking the water up your chemical pump?

Oh yeah....what pump are ya using?

Thanks guys....this is changing the way I look at this!!!

I guess I'm trying to figure out how to rinse the house after the chemical is on it.

Are you hooking the customer's water source up to your pump and rinsing???

I don't think just the hose will reach some of the homes I clean.

If using straight roof mix, wetting the house down first has a similar effect to diluting the chemical in the tank.

I use my xjet to apply and the xjet to rinse. Not that much pressure and I still say it is soft wash.

When possible we rinse using a 3/4 garden hose and a firmans nozzle hooked up to the clients hose bib.
BE SURE IT IS NOT RECLAIMED WATER!

The next time I fix my rig I'm going to add a second mix tank so I can keep a house solution and roof solution seperate

I've never used it on a whole house.  Have used it on vinyl fence, and sofets gutters and trim on a couple of brick houses though.  The only reason i rinse with my pressure washer is so the ho will think I'm doing some work, although I rinsed about 500 ft of fence one time with a garden hose when the ho wasn't home.  I do cut the mix though.

Hands down, you will not be faster or mare efficient cleaning vinyl homes than downstreaming and rinsing with a pressure washer. I never use more than 100psi for applying soap or rinsing.

The problem with using roof pump is the amount of mix you need on hand to complete a house wash. Down streaming only requires 5 gallons of concentrate on a typical hose. And the problem mentioned here already with rinsing with only the houses water source. I have use my Zeta/Delavan etc to soap a house before but only when I had leftover SH in tank needing to be used. It is slower though.
